Production Engineering department of the MIT was instituted in the year 1977 with B.Tech Production Engineering programme and then M.E Programme in the year 1993.Its the first institute to start a P.G programme in M.E. Mechatronics in the year 1999 with 15 students.National board of Accreditation awarded A5 grade to this department in the year of 1997 -98
